This comprehensive survey of audiology has undergone substantial revisions and additions since the first edition was published in 2000. The entire range of diagnostic aspects of audiology is covered in varying depth, from clinical masking to auditory evoked potentials to vestibular assessment.
Purpose:The editors' stated objective is to provide a comprehensive resource to allow audiologists to be more effective in their clinical practice. Given recent advances in the clinical practice of audiology, a comprehensive book providing an introduction to these concepts is an important endeavor. For the most part, the editors' goal of creating such a resource is met by including chapters from experts in each of the areas.
Audience:The target audience for this book is clinical audiologists and audiology students. It would also be an adequate reference for clinical researchers. The authors who have written the chapters are recognized as experts on their respective topics.
