De Nederlander Peter besluit naar Suriname te vertrekken als hij hoort dat zijn zus Hanneke verdwenen is na de moord op haar vriend John, een Surinamer die zoals later blijkt een drugsverleden had. Rechercheur Martin Bosman van de politie in Paramaribo doet onderzoek naar een omvangrijke drugshandel als hij van hogerhand opdracht krijgt zijn onderzoek te staken.
