Lex Monsters come in all shapes and sizes. Mine came in the form of four Calle 18 members, southern California’s most ruthless drug gang. They kidnapped me, locked me in a room, and ripped the life from my very soul. The things that happened to me were unimaginable, even in my most vile of nightmares. Then, one night he opened the door. His name is Cholo and he slays monsters. Cholo Monsters come in all shapes and sizes. Mine came in the form of fearing failure. So, I made sure everything I did, I did better than any other man. The only thing I didn’t do well? Commit to a woman. The son of a Hispanic mother and an Irish father, I grew up known as a ‘half breed’. The Hispanics saw me as white and the white’s called me a Beaner. Soon, I found a place where I fit in, and fit in well.
