دربارهٔ کتاب

Introduction to Solid Modeling using SolidWorks primarily consists of chapter-long tutorials, which introduce both basic concepts in solid modeling (such as part modeling, drawing creation, and assembly modeling) and more advanced applications of solid modeling in engineering analysis and design (such as mechanism modeling, mold creation, sheet metal bending, and rapid prototyping). Each tutorial is organized as "keystroke-level" instructions, designed to teach the use of the software. This new edition has been fully updated for the SolidWorks 2018 software package. All tutorials and figures have been modified for the new version of the software. Additional resources are available online at(http://www.mhhe.com/howard2018) www.mhhe.com/howard2018 . Included on the website are tutorials for three popular SolidWorks Add-Ins, SolidWorks(R) Simulation, SolidWorks(R) MotionTM and PhotoView360. Instructors can also access PowerPoint files for each chapter, the book figures in PowerPoint format, model files for all tutorials, and end-of-chapter problems, as well as a teaching guide. What's New: -Video tutorials accompany several chapters and introduce the chapter's content by showing visual examples-Fully updated text to reflect newest version of SOLIDWORKS-Tutorials and figures have been updated for the new version of the software COVER 1 TITLE 2 COPYRIGHT 3 CONTENTS 6 PREFACE 10 SPECIAL FEATURES 8 PART ONE: Learning SOLIDWORKS® 16 1 Basic Part Modeling Techniques 18 1.1 Engineering Design and Solid Modeling 19 1.2 Part Modeling Tutorial: Flange 20 1.3 Modifying the Flange 40 1.4 Using Dimensions and Sketch Relations 45 1.5 A Part Created with Revolved Geometry 50 Problems 64 2 Engineering Drawings 70 2.1 Drawing Tutorial 70 2.2 Creating a Drawing Sheet Format 85 2.3 Creating an eDrawing 91 Problems 95 3 Additional Part Modeling Techniques 98 3.1 Part Modeling Tutorial: Wide-Flange Beam Section 99 3.2 Part Modeling Tutorial: Bracket 107 3.3 Sharing and Displaying the Solid Model 121 Problems 126 4 Advanced Part Modeling 132 4.1 A Lofted and Shelled Part 132 4.2 Parts Created with Swept Geometry 142 4.3 A Part Created with a 3-D Sketch as the Sweep Path 146 Problems 153 5 Parametric Modeling Techniques 162 5.1 Modeling Tutorial: Molded Flange 163 5.2 Creation of Parametric Equations 176 5.3 Modeling Tutorial: Cap Screw with Design Table 180 5.4 Incorporating a Design Table in a Drawing 187 Problems 194 6 Creation of Assembly Models 204 6.1 Creating the Part Models 205 6.2 Creating an Assembly of Parts 210 6.3 Adding Features at the Assembly Level 219 6.4 Adding Fasteners to the Assembly 222 6.5 Creating an Exploded View 226 Problems 232 7 Advanced Assembly Operations 242 7.1 Creating the Part Models 242 7.2 Creating a Complex Assembly of Subassemblies and Parts 243 7.3 Detecting Interferences and Collisions 249 Problems 251 8 Assembly Drawings 254 8.1 Creating an Assembly Drawing 254 8.2 Adding an Exploded View 256 8.3 Creating a Bill of Materials 259 Problems 263 PART TWO: Applications of SOLIDWORKS® 266 9 Generation of 2-D Layouts 268 9.1 A Simple Floor Plan Layout 268 9.2 Finding the Properties of 2-D Shapes 281 Problems 286 10 Solution of Vector Problems 290 10.1 Vector Addition 290 10.2 Vector Addition with SOLIDWORKS 291 10.3 Modifying the Vector Addition Drawing 293 10.4 Further Solution of Vector Equations 296 10.5 Kinematic Sketch of a Simple Mechanism 299 Problems 306 11 Analysis of Mechanisms 310 11.1 Approaching Mechanism Design with SOLIDWORKS Assemblies 311 11.2 Development of Part Models of Links 312 11.3 Development of the Assembly Model of the Four-Bar Linkage 315 11.4 Creating Simulations and Animation with a Motion Study 319 11.5 Investigating Mechanism Design 323 Problems 328 12 Design of Molds and Sheet Metal Parts 338 12.1 A Simple Two-Part Mold 338 12.2 A Core-and-Cavity Mold 343 12.3 A Sheet Metal Part 351 Problems 360 13 The Use of SOLIDWORKS® to Accelerate the Product Development Cycle 364 13.1 3-D Printing 365 13.2 Finite Element Analysis 374 13.3 Product Data Management 376 13.4 Some Final Thoughts 379 APPENDIX 380 A: Recommended Settings 380 A.1 System Settings 380 A.2 Part Settings 382 A.3 Drawing Settings 387 A.4 Assembly Settings 389 A.5 Backing Up and Transferring Settings 390 A.6 Summary of Recommended Settings 393 B: The SOLIDWORKS Interface: Use and Customization 394 INDEX 408 A 408 B 409 C 409 D 410 E 410 F 410 G 411 H 411 I 411 J 412 K 412 L 412 M 412 N 413 O 413 P 413 Q 414 R 414 S 414 T 415 U 416 V 416 W 416 Z 416 Introduction to Solid Modeling using SolidWorks primarily consists of chapter-long tutorials, which introduce both basic concepts in solid modeling (such as part modeling, drawing creation, and assembly modeling) and more advanced applications of solid modeling in engineering analysis and design (such as mechanism modeling, mold creation, sheet metal bending, and rapid prototyping).
