دربارهٔ کتاب

This comprehensive publication covers all aspects of image formation in modern medical imaging modalities, from radiography, fluoroscopy, and computed tomography, to magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound. It addresses the techniques and instrumentation used in the rapidly changing field of medical imaging. Now in its fourth edition, this text provides the reader with the tools necessary to be comfortable with the physical principles, equipment, and procedures used in diagnostic imaging, as well as appreciate the capabilities and limitations of the technologies.Content: Chapter 1 Imaging in Medicine (pages 1–10): Chapter 2 Structure of Matter (pages 11–26): Chapter 3 Radioactive Decay (pages 27–44): Chapter 4 Interactions of Radiation (pages 45–68): Chapter 5 Production of X Rays (pages 69–90): Chapter 6 Radiation Quantity and Quality (pages 91–116): Chapter 7 Interaction of X and ? William R. Hendee, E. Russell Ritenour. Includes Bibliographical References And Index. Also Available In An Electronic Version. Mode Of Access: World Wide Web. I had to buy this book for a class. I was very disappointed. This edition has several typos and mistakes on the tables. The examples and problems sections are really irritating, sometimes they show a couple of equations and write 5 problems over the same equation over and over again, and I have found instances where the "answers to selected problems" section show incorrect information. There is very little physics that you can learn from those problems. It seems that it is hard to find good books on Medical Imaging, but I highly recommend "The essential physics of medical imaging" (Bushberg. et al.) This is a very good review of the imaging techniques but it is not very quantitative. A more quantitative book I would recommend is "Medical Imaging: signals and systems" by Jerry L. Price. If you have an option, don't waste your money on this book. Covers various aspects of image formation in modern medical imaging modalities, from radiography, fluoroscopy, and computed tomography, to magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound. This book addresses the techniques and instrumentation used in the field of medical imaging.
