Starting from scratch has been hard for Nora Wildes. She just left her husband and career behind to move into a one bedroom apartment paid for by two jobs she hates, things couldn’t get much worse. She is just trying to get through the day when she finds out that her aunt Edith is dead and her world is flipped upside down. Everyone is saying that Edith drowned, the problem with that is that witches can’t drown. In Sucre, the small town her aunt lived in, Nora discovers that it isn’t the same sweet place she remembers from her childhood, now it is filled with magic and mayhem. After inheriting powers, money, a huge pile of problems and a cat that won’t stop talking, Nora is thrust into the middle of a murder investigation. It’s hard to make friends when everyone you meet is a suspect. Will she learn how to use her newly found powers quickly enough to defend herself?
