This is an Italian edition of one of the books written by the appreciated American novelist and screenwriter W. R. Burnett [William Riley Burnett, 1899-1982]. In fact, "Little Caesar" is his best known crime novel, the film adaptation of which is considered the first of the classic American gangster movies.STORY: An ambitious young crook comes to Chicago, USA, with a friend and joins Sam Vetori's gang. He quickly manages to climb high and becomes a leader. His great qualification is self-discipline. He knows how to dominate and handle the scum that surrounds him. But his arrogance eventually becomes his destruction.Burnett's novel was brought to the screen by director Mervyn LeRoy in 1931, in an iconic film noir film starring Edward J. Robinson, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Glenda Farrell.
