There's no way Frank Doy can turn down a request by HMG to help protect old friend, and retired spook, Harry Stone - especially when Harry is asking for him personally, and will accept help from no-one else.The job takes Frank out of his comfort zone. Harry is based in Western Canada, on an island off the Pacific coast. For Frank, it's as remote as you can get ; for Harry, it's now home. Worse, his partner, Erica, has been abducted in Kiev, and her fate is unknown. Frank joins Harry in what was supposed to be his safe base in Coal Harbour, a former mining and whaling town on the island. Together, they start planning how to retrieve Erica without sacrificing Harry himself. First, though, they must survive.
