The Closer

When Bill Freeman, a cynical car salesman in a small town wakes from a dream he soon learns he has made a deal that will change his life forever. On his day off, he agrees to take a new job. Little does he know this career and his new partner, Joe, will take him from his quiet life... and he will never set foot on Earth again. With the promise of wealth beyond his wildest dreams, Bill must use a lifetime of experience, skill... and deceit, to close deals that will take him across the galaxy to other worlds. But unlike Earth, danger waits at every turn and a secret kept by his partner could cost him his freedom and perhaps his life. Without his knowledge, Bill and his new partner, Joe, are pursued from world to world by one of the most ruthless power-brokers in the galaxy and the secret his partner holds may be more important to him than his life. When his pursuer springs the trap he must use his new found knowledge and experience to close the biggest deal of his career. Only this time the future of humanity and perhaps the galaxy hang in the balance. Genre: Science Fiction The following is my account, a chronical.... well, my confession actually, about my involvment in events that led to some of the challenges our galactic society faces today. First you must understand this is from my unique point of view. Many look upon my face and assume the wrinkles are a result of space travel, or environment. But there’s more to it than that, it’s age. You see, I’m not really from around here.... Yeah, “around here” encompasses thousands of societies and cultures upon hundreds of advanced worlds. But mine was not one of those... mine was and remains, a closed planet; a quarantined world. How I escaped that place is my story. But first you must understand, it was my home. I had no idea what was above my head, what was beyond the clouds, atmosphere and glare of my own sun. It was a small world and my view is through those eyes. That planet is Sol 3, but we people of that tiny outlying world, refer to it as Earth.
