Trashman

The year is 2075. David Chandler is a tinkerer at heart. He enjoys searching through other people trash, items they abandoned, with the hopes of finding the occasional treasure. It isn’t that he couldn’t do anything else, it was simply what he enjoyed doing. Earth was continuing its struggle with the drought caused by climate change that has just grown worse over 50 years. Oceans were rising and the farmlands were turning to dust. The great minds of the world were working on solutions to reverse the process. Some believed that simply stopping the use of fossil fuels would allow Earth to return to normal. Others felt that more dramatic measures were needed to cool the planet. Still others had dire projections that showed the human population was quickly outpacing the food supply and proposed drastic measures. Politics, power and money always factor into any solution. David was an observer. He saw the surface of what was occurring and was convinced that there was little man could do to stop the cycle. The solution in his mind was to find the ways to adapt to the changes beyond man’s control. One day as he tinkered with one of his treasures, he discovered a secret plot to save the world – or possibly destroy it. He knew that he had to find a solution, but time was running out.
