Protic Ionic Liquids: Properties and Applications

Tamar Greaves obtained her B.Sc. (1999) and Ph.D. (2004) degrees in Physics from Monash University, where her research supervisor was Assoc. Prof. John Cashion. Since then she has been a postdoctoral fellow with CSIRO at the Molecular Health and Technologies division, within Prof. Calum Drummond's group. Calum Drummond received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from The University of Melbourne in 1987. He is currently Chief of CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering and is the recipient of an Australian Research Council Federation Fellowship hosted by CSIRO Molecular and Health Technologies. He is also classified as a CSIRO Chief Research Scientist. Immediately prior to these current appointments, he was seconded from CSIRO to be the inaugural Vice President Research at CAP-XX. CAP-XX manufactures electrical double-layer capacitors for consumer electronic products. The World Economic Forum designated CAP-XX as a 2005 global Technology Pioneer. In April 2006 CAP-XX listed on the London AIM. Calum's research interests are in the area of physical chemistry, particularly colloid and surface science, including application to energy storage and amphiphile self-assembly materials.
